Partnership for Floyd (PFF) is celebrating the majesty of nature throughout the month of April with Floyd Earth Month activities for all to enjoy.

April 3, April 10, and April 17 — Appalachian Species Giant Puppet Making, 110 W. Main St., 4-6:30 p.m.; Make puppets for the Earth Day Parade.
April 4 — Birding and Nature Hike, pass 602 Gallimore Lane and park before bridge, 10 a.m.; Hike with Master Naturalist Michael Williams and Tom Brody on the Little River.
April 10 — Dandelion Day Festival, 401 Hideaway Lane, 11 a.m. until 6 p.m.; Hear from Director Alex Tuchman at 2 p.m.
April 11 — Landscape Design at Floyd's library, 321 W. Main St., 1-2:30 p.m.; Learn sustainable landscaping practices with Anni Ellis. Anni's forte is on garden, landscape, and hardscape design. https://mfrl.libcal.com/event/16452897
April 12 — Hike the Dodd Creek Trail, 281 Park Drive, 3-4 p.m.; Led by Master Naturalist Michael Williams, Biologist Tom Brody, and Jane Cundiff’s Wild Garden Club. Learn about the local habitat, and wild edible and poisonous plants along the way.
April 15 — Nature and Birding Hike, Lower Rock Castle Creek Trail (directions), 10 a.m.; Walk the trail with Master Naturalist Michael Williams and Tom Brody.
April 18 — Earth Day Celebration in Warren G. Lineberry Park (250 S. Locust St.) with the Appalachian Species Giant Puppet Parade and local nature organizations, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
April 22, EARTH DAY — Birding and Nature Hike, pass 602 Gallimore Lane and park before bridge, 10 a.m.; Hike with Master Naturalist Michael Williams and Tom Brody on the Little River.
April 22, EARTH DAY — Screening of "Water is Love," Floyd Center for the Arts (220 Parkway Lane S.), time TBD; Inspiring stories of regenerative ecosystem design to create water retention in communities around the world.
April 26 — Community Resilience Through Herbalism workshop, Jessie Peterman Memorial Library (321 W. Main St.), from 3-4:30 p.m.; Ed Skopal of I-TAL Acres, Growing and making your own apothecary.
