Skyline National Bank donates $100,000 to support Floyd track renovation The Floyd County High School track, which has been in use for more than two decades, is in need of resurfacing to ensure continued safety and long-term use. The $450,000 renovation project will benefit more than 120 student-athletes each season while also serving uses beyond school programs.
Buffaloes claim back-to-back state XC titles In a dramatic finish on Nov. 8, the Buffaloes mounted a late charge in the final kilometer to overtake Clarke County and secure a seven-point victory.
Floyd clinches 26-21 win against James River to advance post-season run The Buffaloes will face the number two seed Gretna Hawks at Gretna High School next Friday (Nov. 21) for the region semifinals. The Hawks have a similar in season record as the Buffaloes. It is expected that this will be a very intense game on both sides.
Buffaloes face Highlanders in final regular season game The regular season for the Buffaloes varsity football ended with an overall record of 7-3. They are the third seed for Region 2C going into the playoff season, and they are going to play the James River Knights at home on Nov.14.
Buffaloes fall to Bobcats in second loss of the season The attendance of the game was just as high as usual, which can attest to the large amount of support that this small county has for its sports teams. Though the Buffaloes came out of the game with a defeat, their fans were just as glad to be there supporting them.
