Dear Editor,

I'm writing in response to Mr. Griffith’s refusal to participate in debate with Joy Powers.

Voting for the “Big Beautiful Bill” in July 2025 shows Griffith stands for continued tax cuts for the wealthy and loss of services for his constituents, cutting food assistance, and slashing critical funding for Medicare, Medicaid, and the Affordable Care Act.

There’s no commentary on Griffith's website about AI, data centers, ICE and detention centers, or the War in Iran. He has posted nothing under your “In the News” section since 2020. No in-person town halls for 10 years.

Griffith stands with Donald Trump and his policies. To quote Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson, “How sad it must be believing that scientists, historians, scholars, and journalists would devote their entire lives to deceiving you. But a con man proven in court to be a lying felon is your beacon of truth and honesty.”

Mr. Griffith: I, and we the people, will never forget cowardly congressmen like you who kept silent as your constituents bear the burden of the affordability crisis.

I’m grateful to still have the right to vote, and I endorse Joy Powers.
