Be Well Now is celebrating its one-year anniversary by hosting an Open House at the Floyd EcoVillage from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 23.
Be Well Now is a nonprofit organization that provides Psychotherapy, Professional Development, and Mindfulness Retreats in Floyd and surrounding counties.
Visitors at the Open House will be able to learn more about available treatments for trauma, PTSD, anxiety, and depression, such as Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems, Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy, Music-Based Psychotherapy, Nature-Informed Therapy, and Functional Medicine Health Coaching.
Therapists Joe Klein and Jessica Talley-Haynes along with Dr. Mary Hansen will be on-hand to describe the various treatments as well as discuss reduced fees and pro-bono services available for veterans, first responders, and elders.
Be Well Now emphasizes meeting the mental health needs of veterans and elders because they both are often forgotten or left aside in our society, yet both have valuable skills and wisdom to offer our communities if their needs for healing are met. Veterans are committing suicide at staggering rates and elders are often isolated at home or in care facilities where many struggle with depression as they face end-of life challenges.
Refreshments will be served and the Floyd County Chamber of Commerce will do a ribbon cutting at the Be Well Now office located at 188 EcoVillage Trail, Floyd.
For more information, call the office at (540) 745-2222 and click to www.bewellnowva.org.
Registration is currently open for a weekend retreat in November titled "Mindful Living, Soulful Aging: Mining the Gold, Spending the Treasure." More information is available on the website.
