Rural Reflections: 'Hands'

Unity is such a glorious thing. Though too often, we’re drawn out by the sights of division in our country and in our world. That said, it’s nice for once to just have one simple look, at one simple part on our body, our Hands.

Yes, these are black,
these hands are white.
Throw away the bad news,
throw away the fight.
You know we’re red under,
blood red but full in light.
Our words are sounds of thunder,
our actions are the same in might.
Our hands will lead us to reason,
the old ways I saw in sight.
Today’s different views in treason,
a mockery to condemn,
a back hand in smite.
A hand to lead them,
to a false truth,
or a Hand to lead them in Light.
