Rural Reflections: 'Million'
Our first poem of October features a written personal reflection upon a huge number. It seems there's always a disagreeing side in a talk — an opposite end for which people argue their point of view — and create a million ends of division.

"Million"
I heard a million times,
the hatred of left and right,
the kind to paralyze.
There’s going to be a reason,
and a million more why.
And when we talk when,
it’ll come in unsatisfied.
They can’t keep it close,
A murder of who’s to be in time.
There’s a million reasons to compromise.
Tears fall like acid rain,
petty grins come and multiply.
Along with a million demons laughing,
some until they cry.
With cars on fire in light flashing,
building keep climbing sky high.
Every side keeps pushing,
In the end it’s die, die, die.
As I saw a million legs crawling,
as many fell dead liquified.
As the world keeps turning,
and all kept chanting die, die, die.
