Downtown Floyd is welcoming a new collaboration as three local businesses join together under one roof at 117 S. Locust St., adjacent to the Floyd Farmers Market.

Kindred Designs, Plant Matters, and The Buffalo Hemp Company are now sharing a large retail space, creating a unique shopping destination rooted in creativity, wellness, and community.

The Buffalo Hemp Company, which moved into the space in the summer of 2024, has been serving the Floyd community since 2019. The business offers a curated selection of Virginia-made CBD and hemp products, including topicals, tinctures, edibles, and accessories.

The expanded space has now made room for two additional locally owned businesses, turning the historic storefront into a cooperative retail experience.

Kindred Designs is owned by local artist and screen printer Lavanah Byler, who creates original artwork featured on high-quality apparel, accessories, art prints, and more. Byler said sharing the space has allowed her to focus more time on creating while still maintaining a welcoming retail presence in town. She noted that the historic building has long been meaningful to her and that working alongside Buffalo Hemp Company has made it possible to present her art in a supportive, collaborative setting.
