The Floyd Center for the Arts invites the community to kick off the holiday season at the 31st annual Winterfest and the Festival of Trees and Wreaths this weekend at 220 Parkway Lane S. in Floyd.

Each year, the Center’s historic dairy barn transforms into a lively winter marketplace bursting with creativity. More than 40 regional artisan vendors will showcase pottery, fiber arts, jewelry, woodworking, paintings, baked goods, and other handmade goods. Shoppers will find a wide range of handmade works created by both returning favorites and talented first-time Winterfest artisans.

Guests are invited to vote on their favorite tree or wreath that has been decorated by local businesses, organizations, and other groups for the Festival of Trees and Wreaths, which will be on display in the Falcon Gallery. The artwork receiving the most votes will be recognized with the Winterfest Tree/Wreath Award. All trees and wreaths are a part of the festival’s silent auction that supports arts education, scholarships, exhibitions, and community programming.

The Center said in a release this week that it is “especially grateful” to businesses like FloydFest, which submitted a “beautifully decorated tree with a signature pass for FloydFest 26: Daydream (July 22-26, 2026). This gives guests a special opportunity to take home both a work of art and a one-of-a-kind festival experience.”

Barbara von Claparede-Crola, founder of the Festival of Trees and Wreaths and Chair of the Special Events Committee, reflected on the tradition she helped begin. “It has been amazing to watch the Festival of Trees and Wreaths grow. The creativity, generosity, and community spirit that fill the Center during Winterfest make it a truly special celebration each year.”

Warm comfort foods will be available throughout the weekend from food truck Hangrcy out of Vinton. This popular ambulance-turned-kitchen was created by a Food Network Award-Winning Chef, and former firefighter and EMT, and during Winterfest it will serve grilled cheese, croissant sandwiches, croissant stuffers, hearty soups, desserts, fresh coffee, and hot chocolate, the Center said.
