Powers, Mizusawa take Primary wins
The decisions of Floyd County voters mirrored those of the rest of the 9th District and the state. Powers took 51.7% of the vote to represent the 9th with 9,378. Mizusawa took 51.4% of the statewide vote with 122,441.
Voters Decide: Sales tax increase could benefit local schools
Supervisor Linda DeVito Kuchenbuch (Little River) explained during the meeting on July 14 that the Board is "not just looking to raise taxes," and was given the power to do so to benefit schools by the state.
Ahead of primaries, Floyd officials stress election integrity amid low turnout
Kitchen said that as of July 28, “voter turnout has been really low” with a total of 463 early votes. Of those ballots, 263 had been cast in-person at the courthouse, and 200 were mail-in ballots.
