APCo sets dates for open houses to hear from local community members
APCo representatives plan to file an application with the Virginia State Corporation Commission next summer. If approved, construction is expected to begin early 2031 and conclude by late 2032.
Citizens announces scholarships available to students in service area; Deadline Feb. 26, 2026
In addition to the FRS General Scholarship, the program includes numerous named scholarship opportunities that do not require a match from NTCA members. These scholarships have detailed criteria for eligibility, and range in value from $1,000 to $9,000.

Annual Gingerbread Contest returns: Register by Nov. 28
Award categories include General, Youth, Popular, Judges’ Choice, Creative, and Business. Kids are encouraged to enter their own creations into the Youth category (13 and under). Local businesses are invited to participate and be represented in the Business Category.
