The Floyd County Buffaloes are back at it again, beating the Blacksburg Bruins for the second year in a row for the homecoming game.

Last year, the Buffaloes beat the Bruins 34-14. This year, after beating the Narrows Green Waves two weeks ago and the Galax Maroon Tide the week before that, the Buffaloes were ready to keep their winning streak going.

The Bruins were on a two-game winning streak this year as well, so the stakes were high for both teams going into the Sept. 12 game; however, the Buffaloes ultimately pulled out the win and advanced their season score to 3-0.

The game started out slowly for the Bruins, but that didn’t stop Floyd County from jumping right into it. They quickly took a lead of 10-0 in the first quarter.

In the second quarter the Bruins started to fight back. They started to trail closely behind the Buffaloes with a score of 7-10 after a rushing touchdown and successful point after.

During halftime, the homecoming court took the field and held their annual crowning for Homecoming King and Queen.
