Christmas Parade rescheduled for this Sunday

Following a postponement due to the threat of winter weather, the Floyd Small Town Christmas Parade will take place this Sunday, Dec. 7.

Floyd County Parks and Rec (FCPR) and Floyd County Administration announced the postponement via social media last Saturday morning, the day before the parade was initially planned to make its way through town, and shared the new date on Monday after conversations with the Virginia Department of Transportation and other involved parties.

The parade will now begin at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 7. The procession will stage at the high school, make its way down Baker Street to south Locust, and turn right at the stoplight to show off their floats and spread holiday cheer along Main Street. It's estimated that the parade will last between 60 and 90 minutes.

The 31st annual Winterfest at The Floyd Center for the Arts (220 Parkway Lane S.), Tuba Christmas at the high school (721 Baker St.), and the 2025 opening of The Perfect Gift Shop (209 Fox St.) are also set for this weekend.
