Experience Art in Action: Floyd Artisan Trail returns for 16th year
This year’s Trail features 16 artist sites, 22 artisans, and seven Artful Adventure Partners, offering visitors an immersive weekend of studio tours, artist demonstrations, workshops, exhibitions, shopping, and authentic Floyd experiences.
The Floyd Artisan Trail, a free self-guided tour that highlights the creativity, craftsmanship, and culture that make Floyd County an arts destination, returns this weekend for its 16th year.
This year’s Trail features 16 artist sites, 22 artisans, and seven Artful Adventure Partners, offering visitors an immersive weekend of studio tours, artist demonstrations, workshops, exhibitions, shopping, and authentic Floyd experiences. Visitors can meet artists where they create, learn about their artistic processes, purchase handmade work directly from makers, and discover the stories behind the region’s thriving creative community.
Organized by the Floyd Center for the Arts (FCA), Artisan Trail sites will be open to visitors from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturday, June 20, and from noon until 5 p.m. on Sunday, June 21.
Our store offers a selection of lumber, roofing material, insulation, plumbing fixtures, electrical components, and conveniently located five minutes outside the town of Floyd.
“A highlight of the weekend is the opportunity to experience art in action,” FCA officials said in a release this week. “Participating artisans will offer live demonstrations in a variety of disciplines including pottery, woodworking, mosaics, painting, jewelry, leatherwork, and more. Visitors can witness traditional and contemporary techniques firsthand while engaging directly with the artists who keep these creative traditions alive.”
New for 2026, visitors can go beyond the studio tour experience through a series of hands-on artisan workshops offered throughout the Trail. These workshops provide opportunities to learn directly from participating artisans, explore new creative skills, and create artwork of their own while gaining a deeper appreciation for the craftsmanship behind handmade work.
Visitors are encouraged to begin their journey at the Floyd Center for the Arts (220 Parkway Lane S.), where the Floyd Artisan Trail Exhibition is on view through July 4. The exhibition features work by participating Trail artisans and provides an introduction to the artists, mediums, and destinations featured throughout the weekend. Trail maps and brochures are available at the Floyd Center for the Arts and all participating Trail sites.
