FCA showcases work from young local artists
Floyd County High School’s annual exhibit, which is located in the Hayloft Gallery, features more than 200 works of art crafted by more than 100 students under the guidance of Aven Tanner and Sara Thompson.
Three exhibits from young artists are now on display at The Floyd Center for the Arts, including school exhibitions from Blue Mountain School and Floyd County High School.
In the Breezeway Gallery at the Center, “What Strikes My Fancy” by Jonathan Morisco is on display. Morisco is an award-winning teen photographer, who started taking photos of whatever caught his eye at four years old. Now 14, Jonathan has received numerous awards at the Floyd County Fair, including the 2025 Grand Prize, and has recently become a published photographer. The Center said several photographs in “What Strikes My Fancy” were taken when he was only six years old, offering a remarkable look at his artistic growth over time.
Citizens' SmartTown Community Wi-Fi helps EMS, Rescue, First Responders, and YOU get connected when you need it most. SmartTown is designed to provide Wi-Fi coverage in areas with poor or non-existent cellular coverage. Just another way Citizens connects people and communities!
The work of Blue Mountain School students is displayed in the Falcon Gallery. Throughout the past two months, students have explored color through process-based learning, experimenting with materials, color mixing, and creative expression under the leadership of Lore Deighan, a Floyd County native. This year’s exhibit is the third annual school exhibition.

Blue Mountain School is now accepting enrollment in our Early Childhood classes, ages 2 1/2 through first grade! To schedule a tour visit our website or contact the school at contact@bluemountainschool.net or by phone: 540-745-4234
