FloydFest 25 sets summer aglow

FloydFest 2025 created its second celebration of music, magic, and mountains since moving to Check, Virginia. The beloved festival returned July 23-27 with a vibrant tapestry of sounds that offered something for every musical palate.
Attendees were treated to electrifying headline performances from legendary rockers The Black Crowes, the soulful and folksy Mt. Joy, the powerful Southern rock and blues of Gov't Mule, and the swampy funk of JJ Grey & Mofro. The party continued with roster of talent on five stages that kept the crowds dancing all weekend long.
The range of sounds coming from five stages reflected the vast array of faces and tastes in the audience.
The spirit of FloydFest, centered on community and good vibes, was in full force. Across its festooned and glittering landscape, attendees found multiple stages with a continuous flow of music, from grassroots local artists to internationally acclaimed acts.
Beyond the music, the festival was a playground for all ages, with artisan vendors, delicious food both local and regional, and an array of activities creating an immersive, creative, and friendly atmosphere.
When it came to keeping the good times rolling safely, the FloydFest crew showcased their well-practiced hand. While patrons had to move from open areas due to threatened lightning storms in the area on Saturday, the delays totaled less than an hour and allowed most performers to complete at least most of their planned sets.
