Prom for All Abilities 2026: Donations needed

"Every contribution — no matter the size — helps ensure this night is accessible and joyful for all. Your generosity helps create more than just a prom; it creates confidence, belonging, and lasting memories for individuals who deserve to feel celebrated and included."

Prom for All Abilities 2026: Donations needed

The annual Circle of Friends Prom for All Abilities is set to take place on April 18. Organizers are asking the community to help cover the costs of decorations, music, refreshments, and other special touches through donations.

Beaver Creek Church of the Brethren (409 Ridgeview Rd. NW) is sponsoring the venue for this year's prom, which is designed to create a safe, welcoming, and inclusive space where individuals with special needs (age 14 and up) can dress up, dance, socialize, and experience a night to remember. The support of Beaver Creek Church of the Brethren "plays a vital role" in making the event possible, and organizers noted their heartfelt appreciation in a letter to the community.

The letter continues, "Every contribution — no matter the size — helps ensure this night is accessible and joyful for all. Your generosity helps create more than just a prom; it creates confidence, belonging, and lasting memories for individuals who deserve to feel celebrated and included."

Ran by a small, dedicated group of volunteers across the county, the mission of Circle of Friends is to bring community members with various abilities together to celebrate everyone for exactly who they are.

Anyone interested in donating or otherwise assisting with this year's Prom for All Abilities should call Cindy at (540) 392-8357 or Ann Boyd at (540) 239-6019.
