Hello Floyd Times, this is local book writer and published author Kevin S. Hendrick, returning to the newspaper realm with my acclaimed poetry and a new series title, "Rural Reflections."

Our first poem is “Look.”

Look, cause they can’t hold themselves.
It burns these eyes well,
tires out, the whistle bells.
Yes, the inside eye,
light to dark,
the tv line,
radiation from the sky.
Left to right,
but always the insane lie.
An insane politik game,
to make more of this divide.
They use this fear breeding,
passing itself down,
believe me.
It ain’t an innocent rose there,
no more tears to leave me.
Left using fire,
right using words.
It uses fear,
the highest flyer.
Look, it grows tighter,
that hold on us,
that fear, that liar.
