Rural Reflections: 'Shapes'

Our first post for August is a poem I penned a few weeks back in regard to the many shapes in this world. Some have great meaning, like the clouds and creation for example, while others have only little significance.
I am no longer practicing optometry, but I'm still selling frames at discounted prices, and selling and servicing glasses.

Shapes
Shapes were here and there,
like my thoughts scattered in a row.
Some stay forever,
some come and go.
Like I’ve got it together,
really, my thoughts run to and fro.
Shapes are in the clouds,
some are down and about.
The sun melted the skin,
from the mouths of fools in doubt.
Shapes are in the smiles,
some yesterday and some now.
They like the shape of pettiness,
they do it for the crown.
They do it in the rain,
when the tears of God come down.
Shapes of insecurity and how,
and the when and where is now.
It’s meaningless shapes,
in the world,
scattered about and scattered down.
