This week’s reflection is one I’ve been sharing for a while through my social media, and I shared a while back here in the Times.

The poem, “Too Much,” is a writing I’ve come to cherish because it’s a clear perspective I have toward our world in excess today.

Presented to new readers who haven’t seen it yet, here is "Too Much."

It’s Too Much, I guess.
I guess today, how they work,
is scattered brained,
the grave and worst.
Art was never one sided,
it was never closed minded.
Now violence, is what they wish for.
Freedom to speak,
an afterthought for more.
The way they want it,
is the soul at wars.
To laugh it up with fakery,
with nervous sweat,
the crying of these pores.
The way we need it,
are arms to comfort,
of the Lord.
And not these closed hands,
and these locked-up doors.
