Local bicycle shop provides free tune ups at local school
Jenni Heartway said that the school makes it into a whole celebration called, “Bring Your Bike to School Day," where the students are encouraged to ride their recently fixed bikes at recess, and "it's all in preparation for Tour de Floyd.”
Legacy Continued: Reflecting on the Success of the Korn Kutters' CD Release
This past fall, nine students, including me, from the Handmade Music School collaborated with the Field Recorders’ Collective and the Old Church Gallery, and were supported by the Virginia Humanities to create a CD of the 1970 and 1980s Floyd band, Korn Kutters.

The Weddle-Slusher Band — Ab Weddle and his nephew Alton Weddle, Rom Slusher, Rom’s son Waldo Slusher, and Rom's nephew, R.O. Slusher Jr. — were regulars for late 1930s Friday night dances at Pine Tavern.
