Billed as a heartwarming evening of food, friendship, and celebration, the eighth annual Community Thanksgiving Potluck at Dogtown Roadhouse lived up to its description. More than 100 individuals, including families, attended this year’s event last Tuesday, Nov. 25.

The holiday tradition dates back from before the current owners, Alee Epperly, John Epperly, and Chad Hull, took over the business from Anga Miller and Ed Erwin in 2022.  Dogtown owners provide the turkeys, and the community brings the rest: a wide range of appetizing side dishes, desserts, and a nonperishable food donation for Plenty’s! Food Bank.

“It’s a way to give back,” said Alee Epperly. “We like hosting gatherings like this that bring the community together.” She noted that the live music they feature every weekend is another extension of bringing the community together.

Along with live bands, Dogtown also hosts fundraisers. This year, the venue hosted fundraisers for Empty Bowls and the Humane Society along with clothing exchanges, food drives, craft events, community karaoke, trivia night, and a popular Sunday evening Open Mic.

The Thanksgiving celebration included games for children and live music performed by Seph Custer.
