Town signs with private service for waste management

The Town of Floyd has signed a 5-year agreement for trash collection with Rural Services Inc. The contract with the Patrick County based company was approved by Floyd Town Council in its June 17 meeting.

Service is scheduled to begin on August 1 and will reduce service from two days a week to one day per week. Council approved town maintenance crews continuing an additional day of collection each week for a transition period while town residents become familiar with the new schedule.
