Applications are open for scholarships from CFNRV, Floyd Chamber
The CFNRV’s scholarship application is open until Jan. 23, 2026, and Floyd Chamber applications are open until April 1, 2026.
The Community Foundation of the New River Valley (CFNRV) is awarding more than $100,000 in scholarships for higher education in 2026, and applications are now open.
The CFNRV’s scholarship application is open to high school students planning to pursue a degree or undergraduate students currently in school at two- or four-year colleges or universities as well as trade or technical schools.
Older adults returning to school are also welcome to apply, as are ACCE students from New River Community College, CFNRV states.

CFNRV scholarships open to Floyd County students include the following:
Auxiliary of Radford Community Hospital/CNRVMC Scholarship Fund
- For high school students or students with a GED from Floyd, Giles, Montgomery, Pulaski and the City of Radford
- $1,000; Renewable
Blue Collar Scholarship Fund
- For students whose parents or immediate family members work in industries such as construction and building trades, maintenance, skilled labor, commercial trucking, automotive repair, and manufacturing; P{reference is given to students already in college
- $1,000
Citizens Scholarship Fund
- For Floyd County High School, Springhouse Community School, and home-schooled students in Floyd County
- $1,000; Essay required
Cranwell Family Foundation
- For graduates pursuing a post-secondary degree at Virginia Tech; Preference given to applicants from Tazewell County
- $2,500; Renewable for the entirety of the student’s undergraduate career; Essay required
T. Scott Eaton Scholarship Fund
- For students pursuing a post-secondary degree in theatre or fine arts
- $500
Benjamin Eiss Memorial Scholarship Fund
- For students from Floyd, Giles, Montgomery, Pulaski, and the City of Radford

Warren Lloyd Holtzman Freedom Scholarship Fund
- For students from Floyd, Giles, Montgomery, Pulaski, and the City of Radford

The Chamber offers the John McEnhill Legacy Scholarship, a non-renewable scholarship award of $1,000 available to a Floyd County graduating senior who is altruistically minded and demonstrates highly promising leadership and community involvement.
The Chamber also offers two $500 scholarships: one is intended for a trade school/community college, and one is for a four-year college/university. Eligible students include any graduating Floyd County resident senior who intends to attend a college or trade school.
Floyd County High School students, Springhouse Community School students, home-schooled students, and any other Floyd County youth that are planning to attend a qualified post-high school education program are encouraged to apply.
