Local seniors ready for May graduation
Floyd County Public Schools (FCPS) Superintendent Jessica Cromer explained that the move to a Friday ceremony was decided upon due to feedback from students and families. “Many colleges have graduations on Saturday and this way families have the opportunity to attend more celebrations,” she said.

Officials said, to help reduce bear activity and improve safety for both residents and county employees, "trash truck drivers have installed bear-resistant boxes at this location."
