Christmas Store opens at new location this week
Among its thousands of offerings available to purchase each year are a number of artificial Christmas trees, a variety of assorted stockings for every taste, festive dinnerware, ribbon and wrapping paper, spare string lights, wreaths, tree skirts, winter village pieces, wall decor, and much more.
Angels in the Attic’s Christmas Store is operating this year out of the former Finders Keepers building, located at 219 E. Main St., and it opens to the public this Friday, Oct. 10.
The Angels Christmas Store is a seasonal Floyd staple that spreads holiday cheer at low prices, in an effort to make sure everyone has what they need to enjoy the season.
Among its thousands of offerings available to purchase each year are a number of artificial Christmas trees, a variety of assorted stockings for every taste, festive dinnerware and other table decorations, ribbon and wrapping paper, spare string lights, wreaths, tree skirts, winter village pieces, holiday-themed clothing, wall decor, and much more.
Plus, there are gift-appropriate items to help finish up (or start) your holiday shopping.
Angel Rhonda Daiber, who’s helping to facilitate the store this year, said the Christmas Store has existed in varying sizes since founder Kathy Blackwell started Angels in the Attic in 2000.
Daiber said Blackwell had the Christmas Store “somewhere every year, but they were much smaller. It grew as the (nonprofit) grew.”
She added that volunteers are loving the new space, and they’re feeling fortunate that the new owner of the building has been “gracious enough to let us use it.”
Angels Christmas Store open hours are from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. each Friday and Saturday, starting this week until Dec. 20. They will be open the weekend after Thanksgiving, as long as volunteers are available.
