Darren Marshall, who is running as a write-in candidate for the Indian Valley seat on the Floyd County Board of Supervisors, addressed rumors this week that claim he doesn’t reside in the district he’s running to represent.
The hearsay alleges that Marshall lives in Dugspur and parked a camper at his business in Indian Valley in order to run for office, according to a message received by Floyd Times the week of Sept. 24.
Marshall said he and his wife do own a home in Dugspur but have been back in Indian Valley for just over a year. They did stay in a camper beside his auto shop while finishing the renovations on a house, which they’ve been in full-time for a couple of months now, he said.
“I have phone and fiber bills, Appalachian Electric Power bills, and even invoices for remodeling and appliances going back to last year to show we have been residents,” Marshall said.
Additionally, the Indian Valley address provided by Marshall is listed as owned by him and his wife since July 2020 in the Floyd County Geographic Information System.
Constituents can contact Marshall to discuss local issues, ask questions, and learn more about him by calling (540) 392-0547 and visiting his campaign page on Facebook.
