Skyline National Bank held a ribbon cutting to celebrate the opening of its new building during its 125th Anniversary Celebration event on Friday, Sept. 26, complete with fellowship, live music and refreshments.

The new building, located at 212 E. Main St., opened to serve the community on Sept. 15. Branch Manager Laurie Wade said being in the new building has been great, and it was a goal the bank set to be in the brand-new office for the anniversary.

“We are super excited to have all the branch teammates all together in one location to better serve our customers,” Wade said.

While Skyline celebrates its 125th Anniversary this year, its roots along the Blue Ridge Parkway were actually planted more than 200 years ago, the bank’s website states, with the history of the Grayson National Bank and the Bank of Floyd, a “heritage bank” that dates back to the late-1800s. The two combined in 2016 and rebranded as Skyline National Bank on March 13, 2017.
