Rural Reflections: 'Too Much'

Rural Reflections: 'Too Much'
Graphic submitted

As we wrap up April, Poetry Month, and our first full month of spring, how fitting to end with a writing primarily focused on warmth and peace. We shall not live like the cold winter any longer — no, we should be filled with the warmth and life of spring because “too much” winter isn’t healthy.

“Too Much”

It’s Too Much, I guess.
I guess today, how they work,
is scattered brained,
the grave and worst.
Art was never one sided,
it was never closed minded.
Now violence, is what they wish for.
Freedom to speak,
an afterthought for more.
Let us live like spring time,
like peaceful shores.
The way they want it,
is the soul at wars.
To laugh it up with fakery,
with nervous sweat,
the crying of these pores.
Let us live like spring time,
and the peaceful shores.
The way we need it,
are arms to comfort,
of the Lord.
And not these closed hands,
and these locked-up doors.
