Spring is Hatching Season for Spotted Lanternflies
Adult SLFs "are roughly one-inch long and half-inch wide with large, visually striking wings," USDA said. They have "brown forewings with black spots at the front and a speckled band at the rear. Their hind wings are scarlet with black spots at the front and white and black bars at the rear."

Grafting Apple Trees with the Cooperative Extension
The final Apple Tree Grafting Class of the season will be held in the VCE-Floyd County Office at 209 Fox St. NW in Floyd at noon on Saturday, April 25. Cost to attend is $25 per person, and each participant will receive three trees to take home.
Humane Society breaks ground on new chapter
Members of the FCHS Board of Directors, volunteers, and others gathered at the site off of Franklin Pike on Monday, April 13, for the groundbreaking ceremony. The new facility is planned to be a place where animals can start a new chapter.
