FloydFest set to announce alternative programming as Friday's headliner drops out
FloydFest organizers are planning to unveil new programming for Friday night after the Tedeschi Trucks Band cancelled their appearance for medical reasons.
The cancellation was announced Monday evening by Susan Tedeschi who explained that she needs an appendectomy. She said the situation means Tedeschi Trucks Band will not be performing at Newport Folk and FloydFest (where they were scheduled to be the Friday headliner).
"I never cancel shows and don't like inconveniencing our fans, band, and crew, " Tedeschi said. "... My apologies go out to the festival organizers and to everyone who was planning to see us."

Organizers of FloydFest said in a statement on Monday (July 20), "... The Tedeschi Trucks family is in the hearts and minds of the FloydFest Family. We extend our sincerest wishes for a thorough and speedy recovery, and we look forward to welcoming them to FloydFest, hopefully soon."
They added that they will "soon announce replacement programming" to take the Tedeschi Trucks Band's spot of FloydFest~Daydream and noted an option for disappointed ticket holders:
