Donations turn into holiday magic through The Perfect Gift Shop
This year’s Mega Yard Sale to support TPGS is being held until April 25 in the old Finders Keepers building at 219 E. Main St. Items include glassware, electronics, clothes, Christmas decor, tools, shoes, sewing accessories, bedding, furniture, and more.
Great Mother Marchers join in puppet-making for Earth Day celebration
On April 3, the regular group of crafters was joined by a group of road-worn but enthusiastic women who were taking a break from the Great Mother March - A Women's Empowerment Pilgrimage. The march is a 32-day trip completed mostly on foot from Asheville, North Carolina, to Washington D.C.
Local seniors ready for May graduation
Floyd County Public Schools (FCPS) Superintendent Jessica Cromer explained that the move to a Friday ceremony was decided upon due to feedback from students and families. “Many colleges have graduations on Saturday and this way families have the opportunity to attend more celebrations,” she said.
